Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to AppliedOn. By creating an account, logging in using third party authentication services, installing or using our browser extension, or accessing our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use our services.

Description of Service and Pricing Model

AppliedOn provides web based job application tracking, browser extension capture tools, analytics, and aggregated community benchmarks.

• Free Service Tier: AppliedOn is currently offered as a free service. We do not capture any credit card or payment details, nor do we require paid subscriptions to access platform tracking, analytics, or benchmarks.
• Future Service Modifications: We reserve the right to introduce premium features and/or paid tiers in the future. Should we elect to introduce paid features, you will retain access to a free tier of service and will not be charged without your explicit opt in and agreement to new payment terms. (We couldn't charge you right now even if we tried, seeing as how we don't have your credit card number.)

Account Registration and Authentication

To use AppliedOn, you must create an account using supported third party identity providers, such as Sign in with Google or Sign in with LinkedIn.

• Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete account information to the best of your ability. (It's your search and sure, keeping all the replies updated is a pain but you'll have better results, and much better stats, if you get most of them logged.)
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your third party login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Age Requirement: The service is intended strictly for adults aged 18 and older. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

User Content and Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all individual application records, compensation details, notes, and personal data you input into AppliedOn. (Your search history is all yours, but it would be awesome if you contributed to our anonymous crowdsourced reports too.)

• License Grant for Aggregated Benchmarks: By using the platform, you grant AppliedOn a worldwide, royalty free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, aggregate, and display de-identified and anonymized data derived from your activity. This includes logging application statuses, response dates, salary ranges, and benefit availability flags. This license allows us to generate community benchmarks, platform analytics, and public insights, provided your data remains strictly anonymized and you have not opted out of crowdsourced participation in your account preferences.
• Data Export and Deletion: You hold the right to export your data in summary or in full or to delete your account and personal records at any time through your account settings page.

Crowdsourced Data Protocols and Directional Trends

AppliedOn's community benchmarks and market analytics are generated from user reported activity.

• Accuracy & Directional Nature: While we have put protocols in place to attempt to limit fraud, misuse, and neglect, as well as to normalize our data, all statistics are based on the inputs provided by our community. As such, all community benchmarks, response rates, and compensation ranges should be considered indicative of directional trends rather than exact statistical absolute truths.
• User Reliance: You acknowledge that community insights are provided for informational context only and should not be treated as professional career or legal advice. (Think of our benchmarks as a compass for company responsiveness and industry trends, not a precise guarantee on how your interviews will go.)

User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree to use AppliedOn solely for lawful, professional job search tracking and analysis. You agree that you will not:

• Intentionally input false, fraudulent, or misleading application dates, offer details, or compensation figures designed to corrupt or manipulate community benchmarks.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to extract data, user records, or aggregate benchmarks from our platform without our explicit written permission.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the software, database infrastructure, or benchmark calculation algorithms.
• Impersonate any individual or entity, or bypass any security measures put in place to protect the platform.

If you are curious about our dataset or research, please don't mess with our samples or try to scrape our site. Seriously, we built this to add transparency to the job search… so send us an email and we will happily share.

Optional Browser Extension Operations

We provide a browser extension as an optional tool to streamline job application logging.

• "As Is" Capture Tool: The extension is provided as a client side convenience. Because third party job portals and applicant tracking systems frequently update their website structures, we do not guarantee that the extension will successfully parse job titles, company names, or descriptions on every site. (You would think job boards want to be easy to find but nope.)
• User Review Responsibility: You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of any job information captured by the extension before saving it to your tracking grid.
• Selective Operation: The extension is designed to run and read page content only when you explicitly click to activate it. It is not intended to run background tracking across your general web browsing, however, your browser settings may allow you to adjust permissions or grant additional access.

Intellectual Property Rights and Data Sharing

AppliedOn, including its visual designs, spreadsheet interfaces, user experience elements, branding, logos, software code, and aggregated benchmark metrics, is owned by AppliedOn and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms grants you a right or license to use our trademarks, branding, or proprietary analytics outside of your personal platform usage.

• Sharing and Citing Our Benchmark Stats: You are welcome to cite, quote, or share our published public benchmark statistics in articles, social posts, or reports. When doing so, explicitly note that the data represents user crowdsourced, directional trends from AppliedOn. (We're big fans of our reports, but this is crowdsourced data, everyone should know that.)

Service Availability and Backups

We strive to keep AppliedOn reliable and available. However, because our infrastructure relies on cloud hosting providers and database services:

• No Uptime Guarantees: We provide the service on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee 100% continuous, uninterrupted, or error free operation.
• Data Backups: While we maintain database backups, you are encouraged to periodically export a local copy of your job application records using our CSV or JSON download features found in your account settings. (We're a free service and while we plan to stick around, having a backup is a good idea.)

Account Inactivity and Termination

• Consent Opt-Out: You may remove yourself from our crowdsourced benchmarks at any time through your account settings. Note that it may take up to 48 hours for your anonymized data to be removed from all active reporting caches.
• Termination by You: You may stop using AppliedOn and delete your account at any time through your account settings. Note that it may take up to 48 hours for your anonymized data to be fully removed from all crowdsourced reports.
• Termination by Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to AppliedOn at our discretion if you violate these terms or engage in abusive platform behavior.
• Account Inactivity: We reserve the right to purge accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. Prior to purging an inactive account, we will send an advance warning to your registered email address to give you an opportunity to sign in and preserve your data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

AppliedOn is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

Community benchmarks and platform insights are generated from crowdsourced user data for informational purposes only. We make no representations or guarantees regarding the accuracy of community response rates, salary distributions, or company hiring timelines, and you rely on such insights at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AppliedOn and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, employment opportunities, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the platform or browser extension.
• Any career decisions, salary negotiations, or job application actions taken in reliance on community benchmarks or platform analytics.
• Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the service exceed fifty United States Dollars ($50.00 USD) or the total amount paid by you to AppliedOn in the past twelve months, whichever is greater. (Since we're free, we felt like this was fair.)

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

In the event of any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to these terms, you agree to first attempt to resolve the issue informally by contacting us at legal@appliedon.com. (Let's talk like reasonable humans before calling the lawyers into the room.)

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time. In the event of material changes, we will provide notice through prominent means, such as an email alert or platform announcement, prior to the new terms taking effect. Your continued use of AppliedOn after any changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
